Chris
The legendary Chris Upton has played the guitar longer
than Bert Weedon.
His musical education was shaped in illustrious but often short-lived
outfits that are so well known that
to mention them here would seem boastful.
After too many years on the road he has finally settled down with
a combo that can play as well as he can.
Once described as “the guitarist’s guitarist”,
this axe icon can play anything.

Charles

For an aging Scotsman, Charles 'Curly' Corbett is a remarkably
talented man.
He plays keyboards and guitars and does most of the singing and
song writing.
Broad in musical influences, his writing extends well beyond the
boundaries of traditional rock and blues and capitalises on CUB’s
ability to play a wide variety of styles.
He is also an accomplished poet and recently has had a book of
poems published. All this and he gets the beers in too…

Dennis

Dennis Wilkinson is as multi instrumental as they come, he sings,
plays bass, harmonica and sax, although the latter two instruments
do cause him some confusion should be sucking or blowing…or
wheezing? Playing a harmonica almost the same size as his bass also
has its challenges, but he does a great job...
A founding member of CUB, this man is firmly rooted in classic
blues and rock with the body and drinking habits to go with it.

Martin

Martin Clarke plays cornet/trumpet and congas and is known to
bash and tap anything he can lay his hands on….including the
rest of the band for a pint.
His musical influences include brass bands and prog rock, both
of which have proved to be of
no value to anyone.
Martin contributes even more musical depth and subtlety to an
already versatile line up.

Russell

Drummers come in many shapes and guises; Russ is no exception.
From his cradle, Russ rattled and rolled, and got a clip round the
ear for his trouble. Hence his rocking motion away from the drums
as if he is escaping something.
With an inbuilt sense of rhythm that a woodpecker would be envious
of, Russ provides the driving groove, the sure-footed platform upon
which the band builds its sound. He is also a nice guy.
"Lord give thanks."
